Over 80% of Canadians live in urban centres. Our city parks and green spaces filter our air, create shady areas to rest during hot Ottawa summers, provide homes to urban wildlife, and act as invaluable green engines for our city.
This month, Ecology Ottawa and Nature Canada are celebrating all of the great things Ottawa’s parks do for us!
There’s over 20 events already planned in our city including the opening of Westboro beach on June 23. There will be a bonfire, tree sale, and BBQ.
For more events, check out Ecology Ottawa’s website.
It’s also never too late to plan your own celebration. If you have an idea for a Park Month event and are interested in participating in this exciting initiative, let them know by contacting Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kick off summer the right way – in your local park, surrounded by your community!
