Canada Day: What’s Happening in Ottawa?

There isn’t anywhere else I’d rather be on Canada Day than Ottawa Centre!

It’s so great to be able to live in and represent a place where Canadians from around the country (and tourists from around the world) come to celebrate our nation.

Here are some of the events that are happening around the riding on Canada Day weekend:

Welcoming Ottawa Week (June 18th- 30th)

An annual, week-long series of dialogues, cultural and celebratory events, sports activities, documentary screenings, and other events designed to convey genuine welcome and hospitality to newcomers.

Nature Nocturne: #Canada151 @ Canadian Museum of Nature (June 29th)

Meet artists throughout the galleries. Discover four floors of world-class museum exhibitions. Thought-provoking, interactive, immersive, social—an exciting and different kind of museum experience!

Canadian Heritage Activities

Parliament Hill: The centrepiece of Ottawa’s downtown landscape, the political and cultural heart of the city, and the main site for Canada Day festivities.

Major’s Hill Park: Conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Parliament Hill, between the Fairmont Château Laurier and the National Gallery of Canada, this beautiful green space features family-friendly programming and performances.

Canadian Museum of History: Enjoy indoor and outdoor live entertainment at Canada’s most visited museum, conveniently located in Gatineau, Quebec, just across the Ottawa River from other official Canada Day sites.

Dominion Day  at Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (July 1st)

Celebrate all that is Canada with a day of amazing food from local chefs, music from local musicians, and art from local Canadian artists.
