Ottawa Specific Jobs and Programs

City of Ottawa Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services recruitment

  • Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services runs two hiring campaigns throughout the year:
  • The Fall, Winter and Spring Hiring Campaign is open for a 12 month period beginning in May.
  • The Summer Campaign opens each year in February and closes at the end of the summer season. This campaign is used to staff summer job opportunities only.

Parliamentary Internship Program 

Anglican Diocese of Ottawa

  • The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa Youth Internship Program is a new diocesan-wide program for youth in grade 11 – 1st year college/university, sponsored through the GIFT Program

Operation Come Home: Youth Workforce Initiative- Employment Program

  • Three weeks of paid employment training where youth receive job search supports and obtain the following certification: WHMIS, Smart Serve, First Aid/CPR and Safe Food Handling.
  • In addition to employment supports, youth are connected with a social support staff and are connected with other resources in the community
  • Youth are provided with a job start-up kit to purchase interview clothing and required work supplies
  • Job placement for three months with support and wage subsidy for employers.

Eligibility
At the time of intake you are:

  • Between the ages of 16-29
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (E.I.)

Operation Come Home: JobsFirst- Employment Program

  • Up to 6 weeks of one-to-one employment supports for participants where youth receive job search supports
  • Youth have access to certifications such as WHMIS, Smart Serve, First Aid/CPR and Safe Food Handling, Fall arrest etc.
  • In addition to employment supports also receive social supports and are connected with other resources in the community
  • Youth are provided with a job start-up kit to purchase interview clothing and required work supplies
  • Job placement for three months with support and wage subsidy for employers.

Eligibility
At the time of intake you are:

  • Between the ages of 16-29
  • Self-identify with a disability ( e.g. mental health concern/diagnosis, addiction/ substance use concern, physical limitation, learning disability, etc.)
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (E.I.)

Liberal Internship Program

  • Most interns placed in National Office in Ottawa
  • Internships run from May 1 – August 25

Conservative Internship Program
