Kids today are growing up in a time of great change. More employers are looking to hire skilled individuals with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, and math, with digital expertise like coding. Digital literacy is the new essential skill; it was once ABCs and arithmetic; now it’s HTML and robotics.
As the world becomes increasingly digital, we want to ensure that young Canadians are set up for success by equipping them with the digital skills they’ll need for the middle-class jobs of tomorrow. That’s why our government has invested $50 million in the CanCode program.
This program is our government’s down payment on Canada’s future. Our goal is to make Canada the most innovative country in the world, and we’re going to do it by investing in talent and by investing in Canadians.
You can learn more about CanCode and our Innovation and Skills Plan by visiting the government’s website.
