Ottawa Hospital Site Review Public Consultation
The National Capital Commission is conducting a review of potential federal sites for the new Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. The NCC is involving public sector partners, the public and stakeholders during this review process. On Thursday September 22 there will be an open house on this issue from 3 pm to 9:30 pm in the lobby of the Canadian War Museum and a presentation and Q&A period from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the Barney Danson Theatre (also within the Canadian War Museum).
Please be sure to have your say!
On Tuesday October 11 I will be hosting a consultation on electoral reform from 7 pm – 9 pm at the Tom Brown Arena 141 Bayview Rd, Ottawa. If you can’t make it make sure to provide your feedback on electoral reform by submitting a brief, requesting to appear, or answer the Electoral Reform questionnaire by Friday October 7, 2016.
I had a busy weekend on September 17 and 18, meeting with constituents and attending local events. On Saturday, I spent time meeting with constituents at Thyme and Again in Wellington Village and taking in the amazing food and local businesses at the Taste of Wellington. Thanks to the Wellington West BIA for hosting me!
On Saturday evening I was so happy to join Stuntman Stu, Yasir Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Mark Taylor, and my colleagues Francis Drouin and Karen McCrimmon to celebrate a special group of ‘super heroes’ and their families at the 4th Annual Gold on the Hill. Each year, Gold on the Hill invites childhood cancer survivors, patients and their families to light up the Parliament Buildings in Gold to raise awareness for childhood cancers.
On Sunday September 18, I took part in the Terry Fox Run at Carleton University. The 36 year tradition of raising funds for cancer research is an inspiring element of our shared history, and an important way to keep Terry Fox’s dream of finding a cure for cancer alive. I also joined members of the Chinese community to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at Jean Pigott Place.
There is a lot going on in Ottawa Centre, so I also want to use this newsletter to update you on some of the amazing community events taking place. If you happen to have an event you would like me to include in the newsletter for future weeks please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
